Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is a psychotherapy approach that has shown promise in treating individuals struggling with past trauma, current distress, and inability to overcome a pattern of hindrances.
Through a set of structured protocols EMDR aims to help individuals process and reduce the impact on their body and mind from troubling life events. The experience of EMDR involves: increasing calm states in your body, lowering sensitivity to stressors, reprocessing distressing and negative beliefs. You will leverage bilateral (left-right) movement to help the brain and body communicate, organize, and file away information healthily and helpfully.
